Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.

Oscar Wilde

Why Be Yourself?

It’s true that everyone else is taken. You are the only you there is. If you haven’t yet learned what’s so special about that you may need to check in with your purpose in life. Often we are more concerned with fitting in than in discovering who we really are.

If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you are.

Maya Angelou

Since there is no normal, only average, authenticity really is your best strategy for creating your ultimate success.

Authenticity Is Sexy

When you’re comfortable in your own skin, you look beautiful, regardless of any flaws.

Emily Deschanel

It’s sexy, and it’s apparent. People may not be able to identify what it is about you, but they will be drawn to and interested in you. Authenticity creates poise and confidence which generate a kind of light that others find appealing.

“It is evident, therefore, that all we have to do is let our light shine; the more energy we can radiate, the more rapidly shall we be enabled to transmute undesirable conditions into sources of pleasure and profit.

Charles F. Haanel, The Master Key System

Authenticity Is The Journey

“Women who win in life accept themselves as they are: changing, growing, imperfect, and in the process of becoming all their potential allows them to be.

Denis Waitley, Deborah Waitley, Dayna Waitley, The Psychology of Winning For Women

Self-acceptance is the first step. If we don’t see ourselves without judgement and criticism, we won’t be willing to embrace and embody the woman in the mirror. We will miss out on living an authentic life if we hold onto the idea that there’s something undesirable about who we are..

I now accept myself as I am – as a woman. I don’t have to be like a man, I don’t need to prove anything to anyone, I don’t need to be successful in the same way as my father. I simply must be my own person, the one behind the mirror.

PS – Once a day, look in the mirror and give yourself the loving smile you give to others.
