Simon Sinek and the Importance of Why

Ultimate Success Quotes Simon Sinek

Simon Sinek

It’s not what you do that matters, it’s why you do it, and what you do serves as a tangible proof of what you believe.

Simon Sinek

The importance of Why isn’t a new idea – Nietzsche, Frankl and others have written about it.  Simon Sinek takes it to a new level. Start With Why is one of my absolute favorite TED Talks.

It’s about how discovering your Why is essential in becoming ultimately successful.  Too often, when we speak of our purpose, our ‘Why,’ we are really talking about our How or our What. This TED Talk clears up the confusion and what sets Sinek’s ideas apart from others is the tool he gives you and the way he demonstrates its nature.

It’s a powerful thing to achieve this kind of clarity. When we know our “Why” setting goals and achieving them requires less effort – and may even feel effortless! With the core of our purpose clearly understood, we persist through difficulties, setbacks, and opposition.

Success doesn’t happen by accident. Success is the result of clarity and commitment. Those who understand the importance of Why become unstoppable. Do you think you know your WHY? Here’s what I recommend:

  • listen to this talk,
  • read Sinek’s book, and
  • use this diagram to identify your own Why.

Become unstoppable, inspirational, and ultimately successful.

P.S.- I’ve learned that you know that you’ve accurately defined your Why if telling it to someone else or saying it to yourself creates the intensity of feeling that can bring tears to your eyes, and it often does.
