Top 3 Reasons To Eat A Frog For Success

Reason #1 – Brian Tracy

Iconic, Legendary, Proven – this is Brian Tracy.

He’s a powerful, insightful motivational speaker who has inspired and transformed people for over 30 years.  Recently, I chose the audiobook version of Eat that Frog: 21 Ways to stop Procrastination and get More Done in Less Time, published by BBC Audiobooks America; Unabridged edition (November 8, 2006).

Eat-that-Frog-Book-CoverHe offers common sense advice, and just the right amount of authority to encourage the listener. Brian Tracy walks his talk, too, which is an essential factor to look for when choosing your success teachers. Despite being a high school dropout, he has studied, researched, written and spoken for 30 years in the fields of business, personal success, economics, history, philosophy and psychology. He is the author of 55 books that now have been translated into 42 languages, and which are now available in 60 countries. His  goal is “to help you achieve your personal and business goals faster and easier than you ever imagined.” And that’s where the frogs come in.

#2 Not All The Frogs Will Be Large or Ugly

Since listening to this audiobook last year, I often find myself, as I realize that I’m procrastinating, hearing Brian’s soothing voice say:

“Eat that frog!”

This reminds me to take a look at the task I’m avoiding, and often I find that it isn’t even a particularly unpleasant or difficult one. It’s just an item that ended up on the ‘Procrastinate’ list by default. I am suddenly freer because of this awareness and move forward to take the action that I’d been avoiding.

“Voila!” I’ve eaten another frog and I’m one step closer to achieving success. Using this humorous metaphor by Brian Tracy makes the process a bit lighter, yet, I am building solid success habits along the way.

#3 The Big, Ugly Ones Go Down More Easily Than I Think

brianWith the steps and techniques described by Brian Tracy in this book, eating even the biggest, most unappealing frog of the day is achievable.

Achievement is what Brian is all about. He knows that the more often I flex my achieving muscles, the more successful I become. He knows that habits are powerful, and one of the keys to developing strong habits is having a great coach. Having a great coach and acting on their instructions is a major factor in achieving success.

So, now you know how important frogs are to your success.

Bon apetit!
